How did Quran Study start? 

Quran Study began virtually in 2021 with 20 women. It has since grown to more than 3,000 women and remains fully virtual. 

What is AMINA? 

AMINA is a nonprofit that grew out of Quran Study. We had been fundraising together every year since March 2022, so we decided to form our own nonprofit to carry that work forward.

When do we meet? 

Thursdays, 8:30 to 9:30 pm Eastern Time (5:30 to 6:30 pm Pacific). Our members join from many time zones, so we suggest setting a recurring calendar reminder in your own time zone. 

Where do I find the Zoom link? 

The Zoom link changes every week. It is posted in the WhatsApp group chats about 1 hour before the session starts.

The admins are here to answer your questions about Quran Study: schedules, links, slides, and how things run.

AMINA has a strict fundraising policy. We are happy to partner with other organizations or raise money for a cause, as long as it goes through the proper channel first. 

How does approval work? 

1. Bring the fundraiser or partnership to the AMINA admin (Zizi). 

2. The admin reviews it and brings it to the board. 

3. The board makes the final decision, and you'll hear back before anything is shared. 

Can I share an outside fundraiser in the group chats? 

No. Soliciting for external fundraisers in any AMINA or Quran study chat is not allowed without the admin's permission. 

Does a portion of general donations go toward administration and maintenance costs? 

Yes. 10% of general donations to AMINA goes toward administrative and maintenance costs, such as platform fees and operational upkeep, so that Quran Study and AMINA's other programs can keep running smoothly. The remaining 90% goes directly to programs and services. 

Where do I find the slides? 

All Quran study presentations are in a google drive folder (link can be found in your AMINA Quran Study bio). 

Why do the slides start at 88? 

Session 88 is when we began uploading the slides. Earlier sessions will not be added. From here on, new slides are uploaded after each weekly session. 

Can I share the slides? 

The slides are for personal and study use only. Please don't reproduce, resell, or redistribute them without permission. 

Community guidelines 

● Respect everyone in every chat. 

● Keep the main Quran study chats focused on Quran study. Take side conversations to your regional subgroup. 

● No soliciting or promoting external fundraisers without the admin's permission. 

● Keep the slides within the community.
